Vilnius residents are invited to rally in support of Ukraine

Vilnius calls on all citizens to stand in solidarity and help Ukraine during this difficult period. The
most up-to-date information on security topics is regularly updated on https://www.lt72.lt/, that we suggest for you to follow. At the same time, we would like to remind you that Lithuania, and
therefore Vilnius, has the backing of our NATO partners, so we can feel completely safe. And we
have a human duty to care for those who need help today.

Vilnius residents can suggest other assistance to Ukraine or ideas for assistance to Ukraine at
[email protected] The most valuable help apparently would be the expansion of the
accommodation base, and not necessarily in Vilnius.

The capital has prepared a humanitarian aid plan, and there are rooms to accommodate Ukrainian
families who have been deprived of their homes, although so far very limited in number. Currently,
up to 1,000 people could be accommodated economically in comfortable conditions, and around
1900 more in less comfortable but still hygienic conditions.
In the event of a need for additional facilities, public procurement would be carried out for the
purchase of accommodation services.

The city has prepared to deploy around 1,000 medics to provide medical assistance to injured
Ukrainians.

In case any additional premises are needed all the accommodation facilities will be made available
for accommodating war refugees from Ukraine.
