Support for Pupils
Children attending schools receive the following social support:
- Free meals at school (lunch, breakfast, dinner, and free meals at the school’s summer camp):
- Pre-primary school children (those who will attend first grade next year; their education may take place in kindergarten or school), as well as first and second graders, are provided with free lunch regardless of family income. No applications are required.
- Breakfast and dinner for pre-primary school children (those who will attend first grade next year; their education may take place in kindergarten or school), as well as first and second graders, are provided on an exceptional basis, depending on family income. An application must be submitted (information on how to do this is provided below).
- Free meals for children in grades 3-12 (lunch, breakfast, dinner, and free meals at the school’s summer camp) are provided based on family income. An application must be submitted (information on how to do this is provided below).
- Applications for free meals can be submitted from 1 July until the end of the school year (the end of the school year may vary depending on the grade and school).

Application SP-1 is to be completed if the support is requested for the first time or if there is a change in the family composition.
Application SP-11 should be completed in all cases.
The annex to Application SP-11 is to be completed when it is necessary to assess family income.
- Support for pupil’s supplies
- Support is provided to pupils attending pre-school and general education schools, as well as vocational training institutions.
- Pupils under the age of 21 from low-income families who attend adult education programs can also receive support for the purchase of school supplies.
- Applications for support must be submitted from 1 July to 5 October.

Application SP-1 is to be completed if the support is requested for the first time or if there is a change in the family composition.

The annex to Application SP-11 is to be completed when it is necessary to assess family income.
Parents (guardians) can submit applications for free meals or support for the purchase of school supplies in one of the following ways:
- In person: visit the Customer Service Department, located at Konstitucijos pr. 3, Vilnius, 1st floor.
- By email: send the completed application, signed with a qualified signature (more information here), to sis@vilnius.lt.
- By mail: send a letter to the Social Benefits Department of Vilnius City Municipality Vilniaus at Kauno g. 3, LT-01314 Vilnius. The letter must include a completed application signed with a qualified signature (more information here).
- Electronically: through the Information System of Social Support for the Family at spis.lt (to submit an application, you need a residence permit in Lithuania and access to the Electronic Government Gateway. Applications are submitted only in Lithuanian).
